Clipdrop packages a genuinely useful set of AI image utilities (background removal, cleanup, upscaling, uncropping) into a fast, no-fuss web app and API that punches above its weight for quick editing tasks without needing Photoshop expertise. The background removal and cleanup tools in particular are best-in-class for speed and accuracy, and the API makes it easy to bolt these capabilities into other products. It's less compelling as a full creative suite: its text-to-image and relighting features feel more like add-ons than category leaders, and the free tier's credit limits mean regular users will end up on a paid plan. Since being folded into Stability and then Jasper, Clipdrop remains a handy, well-built toolbox rather than a groundbreaking platform, but for the specific jobs it targets it's reliably one of the best options available.
