Focus YT is a free Chrome extension that strips YouTube down to intentional watching. Instead of one blunt blocker, it gives you a popup of per-surface toggles: hide the homepage feed, the related-videos sidebar, comments, Shorts (everywhere), Trending and Explore, end-screen cards and overlays, and the notification badge, and it can disable autoplay so the next video never starts itself.
Flip surfaces individually, or use the Enable All switch to go fully distraction-free in one click. Settings apply instantly on the open tab, nothing needs an account, and YouTube search and subscriptions keep working exactly as before: you can still find what you came for, there is just nothing pulling you somewhere else.
